Although most of us already know heartbleed is old news, but its better late than never to talk about it. For those of us who don't know what heartbleed is, in the simplest terms, its a bug. Not an insect, but a computer bug. The heartbleed bug allows stealing of all the protected information that has been out there from up to two years ago, according to extremetech.com. This information includes communication security and privacy all over the internet such as email, instant messaging, and other internet applications. The heartbleed bug basically lets anyone on the internet read all this information which is stored on the OpenSSL,which is basically a red balloon filled with information. When the heartbleed bug took into effect, the balloon turned from red to clear, allowing everyone to look at everything stored in the balloon. As long as the OpenSSL is still in use, the balloon will remain transparent; however, a fix is being tested and implemented to stop this. to check out more information, check out heartbleed.com.

At least they caught it and it didn't go undetected for even longer.
